Ghost is an expression adequate to make anybody plug up with a manifestation of fear. These white ladies are believed to have been deceived either by their husbands or fiancé and are believed as heralds of death who take retribution from the family of coupled persons. Individuals who are part of these organizations believe that they are able to contact various types of «spirits», «ghosts» — these may be described as «pure», or those of the «light».

Spiritualism can be measured as a monotheistic belief or a part of religion converging humans to rely on God but data of haunting by the ghosts or unique places spirits and without exchanging a few words with them it is not feasible to get knowledge of what happens after life.

Some ghosts are seeking to have the truth of their untimely death acknowledged, while others are seeking to right old wrongs. Many conventional beliefs report, ghosts as souls of the dead lodging on earth either for taking vengeance or incarcerated for the bad things they did during their existence.

They say, that the ghost of Caroline Stickney, the wife of the person that built this hotel still dwells in the tower suite. Sometimes ghosts are also evaluated with appalling omens leading to death. The hotel has rich history — here in the year 1944 the world currencies conference has been held, so you can see sometimes a group of diplomats crowded around the huge stone fireplace, discussing their economic problems.

Susan Hill has all the ingredients here for one hell of a ghost story and I only wish other writers would pick up this book and study it. It has a small village where the people refuse to approach a house they know to be haunted by a lady in black with a pale ghostly face.

Back in 1995 the TV program called Strange But True ran a feature on it. This show interviewed reception staff and the builders who have had first hand experience of experiencing this ghost. It used to house tuberculosis patients and people refer to it as the most haunted place ever.
